How-To:Shorten Shift Boot

This is a short picture guide that will help you make the OEM shift boot look better with a shorter shifter.
That's how stock shiftboot looks like without the knob:
When you turn it inside out you will notice a ring holding the chrome piece in place:
Take the ring off:
Move the chrome trim 1-2" down the leatherette sleeve and reinstall the ring:
Turn the boot inside out and smooth out the folds:
Final result with a shorty TWM shifter:
